It was announced on March 16, 2020 and premiered in Japanese theaters on August 20, 2021. Additionally, a pre-screening was held in five selected theaters across the country on August 10, 2021. It premiered in the United States and Canada through Eventive on September 18, 2021. Note: The film has 3 different post-credit scenes originally rotated weekly on theater showings. On Crunchyroll, these alternative scenes are streamed as separate episodes.
